Farm Fresh: Mooresville's Commitment to Local Sourcing
Mooresville Community Schools found a variety of opportunities to celebrate locally throughout the 2024-2025 school year! The district's food service team, led by director Daniel Williams, has created opportunities for innovative and delicious meals featuring a variety of locally grown Indiana products. Students enjoyed hearty Sloppy Joes made with high-quality beef from Fischer Farms, crispy potato chips from Broad Ripple Chip Company, and sweet corn and colorful bell peppers fresh from the fields of Garwood Farms. Students also enjoyed refreshing apple cider pressed from their orchard's fall harvest. Even the milk came from local dairy farmers through Dairy Farmers of America. This farm to table movement within Mooresville Community Schools shows their commitment to nourishing students with the very best that Indiana agriculture has to offer. Hats off to Mr. Williams and his team for their dedication to serving up healthy, locally-sourced school meals!
