Farm to School Recipe Contest

The Indiana Department of Education and the Indiana Grown for Schools Network promote Indiana Food Day and Indiana Apple Crunch annually to celebrate local food and healthy eating. These celebrations are held every year in October to coincide with National Farm to School Month.


How to Participate

What: A recipe contest to feature corn, the Indiana Food Day product, or apples, for Apple Crunch, as an entree, side, or dessert in your school’s cafeteria.

Why: Support Indiana’s local producers and help schools serve more local products

Who: Open to Indiana high school students

When: Contest runs from August 1 - September 19, 2025
